Meet Matthew Gilfillan.

I founded Ink Wire Education to help students become more thoughtful readers and confident writers. I bring ten years of international-school teaching experience, including YK Pao School in Shanghai and an IB PYP school, to every lesson.

Who are lessons for?
Students in Grades 3–12, including learners in bilingual and international schools. The reading level, language support, and writing expectations are matched to the learner.
How do online lessons work?
Live lessons take place on Zoom and combine discussion, reading, and writing. Reading and practice between lessons help students arrive prepared. We agree on the format and lesson length around your child’s needs.
Can you support my child’s school curriculum?
Lessons can support IB, Cambridge and British curricula, Common Core, and Canadian expectations. Share your child’s grade, course, and current goals so we can discuss the right fit.
How will I know they’re progressing?
We use clear learning goals, your child’s writing, and specific teacher feedback to identify strengths and next steps. You can discuss their progress and any concerns directly with Matthew.
